Jonathan Knee

Jonathan grew up on his family’s farm in Bradford-on-Avon before spending several years living and working overseas. After returning to the UK, he established a career in financial services in London, beginning as an Investment Analyst at Legal & General and later serving as Investment Technical Manager at MetLife.
In 2008, Jonathan returned to the West Country to join his family’s business, H.J. Knee Ltd — a company founded in 1879 in Trowbridge, Wiltshire, by his great-great-grandfather. Maintaining his long-standing interest in financial services, he left the family business in early 2017 to retrain as a Financial Adviser. After several successful years advising within larger firms, he fulfilled his ambition of founding Knee Financial Planning Limited in November 2023.
Throughout his career, Jonathan has acquired extensive board-level experience across multiple sectors, holding executive, non-executive, and consultancy roles. Deeply committed to his local community, he currently serves as a school governor at Ralph Allen School and as a business mentor with Enterprise and SETsquared Bath at the University of Bath.
